Councilman Derrick Thompson is dedicated to tackling the most pressing issues facing our community with a holistic and collaborative approach. His key priorities for this term include:

Jobs & Economic Development
Derrick is committed to creating more living wage jobs and fostering economic growth in District 6. He will work with local businesses and organizations to attract new investments and opportunities to the area.
Youth Empowerment & Safety
Derrick will focus on reducing youth violence and improving the overall quality of life for young people in District 6. He will advocate for programs and initiatives that provide opportunities and support for the youth.
Resident Satisfaction & Infrastructure
Derrick is dedicated to meeting the needs of the residents by providing the amenities they ask for and improving the overall infrastructure of the district, including storm water management.
Community Collaboration
Derrick believes in collaboration and will work with community leaders, state, county, schools, and hospitals to address the diverse needs of District 6 and ensure that every voice is heard and represented.
Environmental Stewardship
Derrick is committed to seeking federal grants and implementing initiatives to improve storm water management and promote environmental sustainability in District 6.
